Meeting Report 29th November

Caitlin Shervill our Rylarian for 2022 blew into our Rotary Meeting this week as a breath of fresh air. RYLA is a Rotary Youth Leadership Program for 18 to 25 year olds and Caitlin came to our diner meeting with her partner Sam to tell us of her experience in September. She is a law graduate working with local law firm TindallGaskBently Lawyers since 2021 and lives in Murray Bridge. Topics covered included leadership styles, public speaking, conflict resolution, communication, mindfullness, action versus thinking, entepreneurship, passions, resilience, emotional intelligence, first impressions, building relationships, and stress management. She enjoyed the experience and has indicated she has nominated to be a mentor for RYLA 2023. The piano she is seen playing was one that the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge funded for Jesse Budel as a Rotary Music Bursary awardee some years ago as part of our Rotary Assisting Local Youth Program. Jesse has now completed his Doctorate in Music from Adelaide University and acted as a mentor for RYLA in September. Caitlin has now joined the Adelaide University Rotoract Club. The threads of Rotary in our community sometimes invisible but never the less present.
