Welcome to my first Presidents report for 2023 and I hope all is working out well for you all and you all had a merry Christmas with family and friends. I guess some of us are watching a lot of water in front of our houses hoping the river will settle down soon.
I will be starting to send around the members sheet for the Swap Meet which is on Sunday 19th February, and as some of our members will be interstate or overseas, I will be looking for all hands on deck.
I would like to thank Jack for his tireless work in trying to have disused play equipment shipped to Mongolia, and I know this is taking quite a lot of Jacks time.
As I have mentioned many times, I ask all members to think of possible people in our community who would be potential members of our club to become a stronger Rotary Club.
I look forward to greeting you all on Tuesday nights meeting.
Flood Videos of Murray Bridge
Many of you may have already seen these videos created by Mark Pearsons but the links below wil take you to the Sturt Reserve, Swanport breach and Long Flat breach.
The Sunrise this morning in Murray Bridge was amazing before the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge Breakfast at Bev and John Scarvelis's Eastside Murray Bridge. Rotarians were treated to BBQ bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns, stewed fresh apricot with cereals tea and coffee. President Elect Gordon Schultz wished everyone a Merry Christmas due to the absence of President John Whimpress. The weather was very kind, in fact very comfortable and the place was abuzz with conversation and frivolity. Merry Christmas.

End Polio Now
In 1985 Rotary launched PolioPlus to immunize every child in the world against polio. Working with our partners and members of the global health community, together we will end polio.
Through the science of vaccines, Rotary & partners have saved nearly 19 million children from becoming paralyzed by polio. Learn more about our work to End Polio Now and how you can get involved: https://on.rotary.org/3eqtrrr
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years, and we’ve made incredible progress in the fight to rid the world of it forever.
It’s crucial to eradicate polio from the last two countries where it remains endemic and to keep other countries polio-free.
If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
What is polio?
Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a paralyzing and potentially deadly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus spreads from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can then attack the nervous system.
