Meeting 3332 Report

Last Tuesday members & friends attended the Pistol Club and enjoyed an evening of fun & fellowship.
Rotarians Jim Cundy & Jerry Wilson along with  nine members of the Pistol Club organised the evening and food. Thanks to all who assisted in making this a successful evening.
The steak was supplied by Drakes Supermarkets and was a highlight along with the sweets.
It is reported that President Lesley is a "crack" shot. The image on the top right shows her target (I think)!
However the real winners on the evening were Liz Cozens for the ladies trophy and Darryl Webb for the mens.

Wear a Hat & Save Money!

"Wear A Hat" night for our Club is on November 5th.  To raise funds we charge $5 if you wear a hat and $10 if you don't wear a hat!
All funds raised go to Australian Rotary Health for research into Mental Health.

Recently the “Tucker into Murray Bridge” Project team and members of the sponsoring Rotary Clubs of Mobilong, Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend attended a Food Bank reception hosted by Governor Hieu Van Le and Mrs Lan Le, in acknowledgement of the role service clubs play in addressing food insecurity within our communities. The Murray Bridge Food Hub Fund raising campaign goes live Wednesday 29 October 2019

High Tea

The Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia is a life changing medical organisation surrounded by love. Since being established in 1974 by Drs Catherine and Reg Hamlin, over 60,000 women have been surgically treated to correct birthing injuries, returning these women to their villages and families, their health and dignity restored.
Recently charity organisations in Murray Bridge took part in a High Tea occasion to raise funds to support the work of the Hamlin Fistula Hospital. Guest speaker Rose Dahlitz has visited the Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, and she spoke about the ongoing dedication of the medical staff, and their helpers to ensure help for those suffering this horrible condition. A more recent service provided by the Hospital is to train midwives with the ultimate aim to eradicate the occurrence of obstetric fistulas through medical services provided at local community centres throughout Ethiopia.
The fund raising event was arranged by the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, with representatives from Inner Wheel, Christ Church Lutheran, Kiwanis, Lions, Holy Cross Lutheran, and Soroptomists. The audience was treated to delicious sandwiches without crusts, an astonishing array of decorated cakes, a competition based on the knowledge of teas, all enjoyed with sparkling wine and real tea.
Generous participation in the activities by the audience resulted in much needed donations that will ensure more Ethiopian women will be rescued from a life of shame, pain and humiliation.
