Our club assembly last week highlighted what a busy year we have ahead with all committees outlining their programs. We thank Kevin Prosser for Lisa’s new stool we hope she finds it helpful.
Last Friday night I had a zoom meeting on conflict resolution I am now qualified to solve any conflict I have with myself. Really it was very helpful.
We look forward to our District Governor’s visit Tuesday night.
I have also been asked to let our members know Rotary’s stance on The Voice.
"As a non-political organisation, Rotary does not take corporate action or express opinions on subjects related to specific government, political or ruling parties, laws or entities.
However, we do encourage understanding of social issues that impact our communities".

YOUTH ART PRIZE 2023
The Rotary Clubs of Mobilong and Murray Bridge have financially supported the now renamed Youth Art Prize since 2012.
Now open until 20th August
Murray Bridge’s annual Youth Art Prize showcases diverse artistic talents of young people aged 12-25.
This year, 98 entries have come from the Murraylands, Mid Murray, Murray Mallee, Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills, Adelaide and even two entries from Queensland.
Since its humble beginnings co-initiated by The Station well over a decade ago, it now offers a total prize pool of $4,500 in cash and vouchers for art materials and books.

Monarto Safari Park
Mark Smith is Manager of Conservation Research and Animal Welfare at Monarto Safari Park adjacent to Murray Bridge. He studied marine biology, has worked in Seaworld for 7 years, started the Aquarium in Barcelona, then went to the Portugal Aquarium and now with Monarto Safari Park. The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge has worked on two conservation projects with the Park and now plans to assist in a third. The Mallee Sanctuary project. Mark updated us on the first of these the Mallee Emu Wren Conservation project. The Murray Bridge Rotarians built several cages to trial the Rufus Emu Wren building knowledge on husbandry of Wrens. The research knowledge gained is now to be applied to the Mallee Emu Wren which will now be in a breeding program at the Park to release back to the wild. The Plains mouse is the second project and two hundred have already been released. Our newest project is in support of the Mallee Sanctuary which is being developed near the new Display Centre and Hotel. Rotarian Rob Walters has already proposed some planning and shelter structure design. Some of the other interesting projects include the endangered Orange Bellied Parot which occurs from the Coorong to Tasmania, the Pygmy Bluetongue Lizard, Yellow footed rock wallaby, Western Swamp Tortoise, the Black footed Rock Wallaby Warru, the glossy black cockatoo, Bettongs, Stick Nest Rats, and the Red tailed Phascogale which occurs from the Murraylands to WA. Fenced conservation areas are required to restrict feral cats and other threats.They also have a program with the local Ngarindjeri. Also the have strong links in supporting international conservation projects like the Jane Goodall Foundation and the ZIMS Animal Data Collection Project. A further point of interest was the stocking of native fish in the waterholes within the Park. They certainly punch well above their weight and our Murray Bridge Rotarians are very proud to support them. The Environment is the seventh area of focus for Rotary International.
