We have had a good start to the week, and all is on track for a great night on Tuesday.
Thank you to all that have helped me make this Tuesday night a success and hopefully we will be inducting some new members shortly. As I said in my previous correspondence please mingle with our guests as there is no set seating on the night.
I was able to assist with the Australia Day breakfast and I would like to thank both Liz and Sam for their organising of this morning. All went well and we may also have a couple of new citizens interested to become involved with our Club. I along our other members enjoyed the morning, and it was great fellowship with many of the public and members.
Should any member have a friend or family member who has nothing to do on the 19th Feb ( Swap Meet) and would like to help on the day please ask them and let me know as this year we have members who are unable to help us out this year due to other major events in their lives.
I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.

Year Of The Rabbit
The Murraylands Chinese Community celebrated Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit, with guests Madam He Lanjing the Consul-General from Adelaide, Rural City of Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley, Murraylands Multicultural Network Chairman Rotarian John Scarvelis and his wife Bev, Borong Xu President of the Chinese Community Association Murraylands, and Bao Luo Australian Migrant Resource Centre Murray Bridge in the Murray Bridge Library on Sunday. The Lunar Year is a Spring Festival in Asia. Its the beginning of a Calendar Year whose months are cycles of the moon. Decorations in red colour, like lanterns, and spring couplets are widely used during the Festival, whilst dragon dance, lion dance and fireworks are popular activities. This year the celebration begins on 22nd of January for the Chinese who celebrate with family and friends. It was great to see the Chinese Community celebrate with such enthusiasm, gift giving and goodwill in the Murraylands. People born in the Year of the Rabbit are believed to be vigalent, witty, quick-minded, and ingenious. 2023 is predicted to be a symbol of hope. The sign of the Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture. Happy New Year!!!

A Day In The Grove - Mypolonga
Enjoy a day in the grove at award-winning Rio Vista Olives - a haven found north of Adelaide near the Murray River - and indulge over lunch from three renowned chefs.
Start your Saturday with a sommelier-led tasting and grove tour, going behind the scenes to see how extra virgin olive oil is created. Then prepare to sit back and relax in the grove with a feast created by chefs Mark Best, Jason Roberts and Paul Farag. The trio will use luscious produce from across the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong, with wine parings from Fierce III - the newest label from the Barossa's Lou Miranda Estate.
Best is synonymous with Sydney restaurant Marque, the fine diner named among the world's 50 best for three consecutive years. It also held three hats in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide for a decade, with Best moving on to a range of other culinary ventures when the venue closed in 2016. This legend of the Australian hospitality industry considers Rio Vista olive oil his all-time favourite.
Our Club has received another "gift card" from Dakes in the amount of $125.00 through their Community Dollars programme. Thank you to all members who have shopped at Drakes and registered their barcode. Please keep on doing this as it helps pay for groceries bought for bbqs etc. Any members who havn't a Drakes tag please see me. The tags are not just for members, you can give them to friends and family. You can use them at any Drakes store in South Australia.

End Polio Now
In 1985 Rotary launched PolioPlus to immunize every child in the world against polio. Working with our partners and members of the global health community, together we will end polio.
Through the science of vaccines, Rotary & partners have saved nearly 19 million children from becoming paralyzed by polio. Learn more about our work to End Polio Now and how you can get involved: https://on.rotary.org/3eqtrrr
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years, and we’ve made incredible progress in the fight to rid the world of it forever.
It’s crucial to eradicate polio from the last two countries where it remains endemic and to keep other countries polio-free.
If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
What is polio?
Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a paralyzing and potentially deadly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus spreads from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can then attack the nervous system.
