I hope everyone is staying cool and hydrated during these rather hot days. It is a shame that because of this heatwave we have had to cancel Foundation Night at John Whimpress’s. However we will be at the Bridgeport in the cool and will still be able to listen to our guest speaker.
Last Tuesday went really well, I thought, despite some who said they were coming didn’t turn up. An unexpected last minute visitor was DG Marie-Louise (ML) which was great. Her input was much appreciated. Our planned speakers were great and so were our spontaneous speakers - Thank you. We might get a few new members from this event and we are also getting Rotary out there. Thank you John Whimpress for organising the venue and the food, and to your helpers for the sandwiches and setting up the tables. Caitlin thank you for the table centres and the “origami fortune tellers”/“cootie catchers” that gave information about Rotary. A fun idea!
After Tuesday things for me have become fairly quiet which was great as I have started teaching again and it is an 11 week term. The heat is not kind to acoustic instruments. Some of my students pulled faces when they played certain notes that were out of tune. Roll on the cooler weather so the piano can recover a bit.
Thought for the week:
Train your mind to see the good in everything. Positivity is a choice. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. - unknown
(Primarily in Rotary District 9685 but happy to welcome guests).
