“Strong Communities are Built by Volunteers” and nowhere is this more so than in Murray Bridge and the volunteers of our Rotary Club. At last week’s gathering we heard about the latest volunteer opportunities that our club members are engaged in. It’s always good to have a catch up with what else is happening in the club and we covered: - The Bridge Festival Youth Week 2026 – Saturday 11th April
- Ambrose Golf Day – Thursday 16th April
- MBHS BBQ for Mary Poppins Rehearsal – Thursday 23rd April
- ANZAC Day Service – Saturday 25th April
- Rotary Art Show – Sunday April 26th (Opening) to Sunday 24th May
- Pioneer Adventure Day at Old Tailem Town – Sunday 3rd May
- Christmas in July – Saturday 25th July
Special Thanks to Jim, Jenny P, Jenny A-W, Robin, and Suellen for providing information to keep us up-to-date on each of these events. Remember that rosters for these events are now circulated via Club Runner and you can sign up at any time before the event. If you are having some difficulty with that, see the coordinator for the event and I am sure they will be able to add your name to the list for you It was great to see so many members support the Rural City of Murray Bridge sponsored Bridge Festival for Youth Week on Saturday. While the weather was not great at times, it did not deter the families coming out to experience the free activities and hamburgers/sausages. Thanks to all who braved the weather to cook and serve Sunday morning and Lyn and Simon farewelled our participant from Mannum Community College on his ‘One and All’ Sailing experience. He has joined 23 other young adults on a new adventure – a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience 5 days at sea, developing Leadership Skills, Problem Solving & Team Building Skills, while making new friends. We will be able to hear from him when he returns from this amazing adventure Still collecting Plastic Bread Tags? Well, its nearly time to end the collection of the plastic tags. No more tags will be able to be delivered to our Adelaide Drop-Off points as ‘Transmutation’ are moving their business to Melbourne (see the information below) – so if you have any of the plastic tags still at your place, please get them to me asap so I can get them to Robe before Brad and Narelle close their business on May 29th. Our gathering this week will be in Committee Groups as Directors discuss the remaining activities in this Rotary Year. Come along and support your committee with what’s happening at the club and get involved. Roxanne
