I would like to thank Jack, Roxanne and the many helpers who have made the play equipment and sundries container for Mongolia such a huge success. After this weekend it is now closed up and ready for fumigation, which I have been informed is being done at no cost to Rotary.
Please don’t forget that this Thursday we have the Ambrose Golf day and to all that will be assisting, thank you. This day not only helps raise funds, but it also promotes Rotary.
I would like to ask members to please keep promoting our Club and to keep looking for new members.
I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday and Thursday.
Darryl have a great time in North Borneo and we will see you when you get back.

Murray Bridge 3500th Meeting
It was ALL happening at the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge's 3500th Dinner Meeting Celebration last night at the Murray Bridge Golf Club. Three new members were inducted into the Club Lisa Sherry, Lorraine Baker and Debbie Scerri. Two cakes were cut for the dinner desert. Guests included the Assistant District Governor Sheralie Judge and members from neighbouring Rotary Clubs Mobilong and Tailem Bend. Guest speakers were from the Department of Infrastructure and Transport led by Senior Project Manager Simon Brederick, local Kathryn Challenger Contract Manager and McMahon Project Manager Nathan Robinson. They led an interesting discussion about the current work being done on the Old Murray Bridge. The iconic Bridge is heritage listed, is being rust proofed and pier 26 is being rebuilt. Consultation has included the local Ngarrindjeri and some art work will be included into the finished product. The Bridge has a 600m span and from current surveys between 10 to 15,000 crossings occur on a daily basis linking East to West. Its now 144 years old. The project has taken into account of money being spent in our city and employment of local people where possible.

Yuntu-Walun Festival Report 2023
The Murraylands Yuntu-Walun Multicultural Festival in Pine Park Murray Bridge on Sunday March 19th 2023 was an outstanding success. It was the Community Coming Together as the name in Ngarrindjeri Yuntu-Walun interprets. The Ngarrindjeri welcome invited the audience to participate and this theme continued throughout the day. The format for the entertainment was presented as a concert with 18 cultural performances and in addition 40 or so food and cultural stalls contributed. The venue turned out to be perfect and highlighted the need for more shade at Sturt Reserve.
Annie Williams is a McGrath Breast Care Nurse working for Country Health Connect. On Tuesday night (28th March) she spoke to us of her professional career in nursing. Annie is currently working in the Murray Mallee region and until recently there has not been a service to clients suffering with lymphoedema.
This has meant that clients with lymphoedema or suspected lymphoedema need to travel to Adelaide for diagnosis and ongoing treatment. As there was a gap in the service, Annie has completed the Lymphoedema Therapist course. She now runs lymphoedema clinics for breast care clients, providing measurement, ordering and fitting of garments; Lymphoedema massage and education for self-care and self-massage. Local support for lymphoedema is necessary for trouble shooting and ongoing care as needed, providing a better service to our community. We do not have any private practitioners in our region to be able to refer to locally. Murray Bridge Country Health Connect are currently looking to commence a lymphoedema clinic in Murray Bridge for the local community, which will help all people with lymphoedema not just breast care clients.
Annie is looking for funding to purchase a SOZO machine for Murray Bridge. The SOZO helps to diagnose lymphoedema (pre-clinical) and assists in the ongoing management of clients with Lymphoedema.

School of St Jude Update
Greetings from The School of St Jude.
At the beginning of the year, our students came together one afternoon and wrote letters to the sponsors who support their scholarships.
It’s always a happy and beautiful moment seeing our students sit quietly, write and decorate letters thanking you for your support and letting you know how their holiday was, what they expect this year and the new clubs, sports or subjects they will be doing this year.
Kindly find attached letters from the students whose academic scholarship you support. We hope you will enjoy reading them.
All at Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, thank you for your continued support of the academic scholarships, and for joining a hand in educating the future leaders of Tanzania.
If you wish to reply to any of the letters, please feel free to respond via this email address, and we will be happy to pass it on for you.
Our Club has received another "gift card" from Dakes in the amount of $125.00 through their Community Dollars programme. Thank you to all members who have shopped at Drakes and registered their barcode. Please keep on doing this as it helps pay for groceries bought for bbqs etc. Any members who havn't a Drakes tag please see me. The tags are not just for members, you can give them to friends and family. You can use them at any Drakes store in South Australia.
