Gidday to all, we are currently in Derby WA having a good look around and travelled up the Gibb River Road looking at a couple of the Gorge’s “beautiful country”. I have to say the tide is the fastest & biggest I have seen around Australia at this stage, mind you the water is a very sandy brown colour, but they still manage to catch the odd Barra.

Tuesdays meeting 4th August: It was great to see Kai Martin attend & tell his story, a fantastic young man with high motivation toward supporting and making a difference for people who have been affected in some way through Domestic Violence. All this is accomplished for his campaign using extreme endurance running to raise money, awareness and community action around domestic and family violence (DV).

Well done Kai for your “service above self”. If you would like to know more about Kai and assist in his fund raising, search via the web https://www.kaisrunfordv.org/

Aged Care Expo – Thursday, 6 August

Congratulations to Rtn. John Whimpress and all the supporters from the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge and beyond for another outstanding Aged Care Expo.

This now annual project, created and driven by John’s commitment to “Service Above Self,” continues to make a valuable contribution to our local and surrounding communities.

The photos shared on Facebook clearly show the wonderful range of exhibitors who came together to provide information, guidance and support to the 300 people who attended. The Expo provided an excellent opportunity for people to explore the services and resources available to assist them in planning for their future.

It was fantastic to see the whole community getting behind this important program.

Well done, John, and congratulations to everyone involved in making the Aged Care Expo another great success!

Aged & Carers Expo 2026

Over 30 Service and Support agencies partnered with the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge to present the Aged and Carers Expo at the Murray Bridge Town Hall on 6th August.
Those attending came from locations across the Murraylands, Upper South East, the Adelaide Hills and surrounding areas.
Varied stalls showcased the vast range of local services available.
Led by Rotarian John Whimpress, members assisted throughout the day providing guidance for attendees, ensuring the BBQ was always providing food and ensuring the event was successful.
Due to the support shown, there is definitely a need for this Expo as an ongoing event.

Meet via Zoom

During Covid, our club met via Zoom to allow all members access to our weekly gatherings.

If Zoom was available on a weekly or as requested method of joining our gatherings, would you use it?

Please advise President Simon if this facility would help you engage with our club.

West Lakes Rotary - Visiting Murray Bridge

RC West Lakes are visiting the Murray Bridge/Tailem Bend area on the weekend 7/8 November.

On the Saturday night, 7 November, we will be having a meal and would be pleased if members of both your Clubs see fit to attend. We haven’t organised a venue yet, really depends on numbers. It would be great to mix and share stories.

Please contact Andrew De Garis if you are keen to be part of this evening meal
Editor Note - Andrew is the District End Polio Champion and is always keen to promote the project. Maybe a guest speaker at one of our Murray Bridge Club meetings?
