Christmas Meeting 3338

The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge Family celebrated Christmas at the Murray Bridge Lawn Tennis Club's new clubrooms last night next to the River. Of course Santa was the favourite with the grandies. Christmas carol singing accompanied by Jan Smythe on the piano and Sam Cozens ukelele was fun. The Tennis Club assisted with catering. President elect Simon Sickerdick and his Club Service group made it a very enjoyable evening.

Murray Bridge High School

The MBHS robot and team performed at the FTC National Championships in Sydney last weekend. The MB Bunyips ranked 23 out of 39 teams at the end of the qualification matches and gained valuable tournament experience for next time. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors: Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, Lions Club of Murray Bridge, Kiwanis Club of Murray Bridge, The Murray Bridge United Lodge 44, Rural City of Murray Bridge, and the MBHS Governing Council. Well Done Team!

Vaccinating the World

Children have the power to change the world, yet millions every year don’t reach the age of five because of preventable diseases

Vaccines are safe, inexpensive and save more than five lives every minute. Yet 1.5 million children still die each year because they haven’t received the right vaccines.

Almost half of the world’s infants who lack vaccinations live in conflict-affected and low-income countries, which are hard to reach.

Ensuring vaccines reach every child is a massive challenge. Every vaccine must be continuously stored at the appropriate temperature from the time they are manufactured until the moment of use. This is called a cold chain.

The journey of a vaccine takes place by air, land and sea, and people around the world overcome enormous challenges to keep the precious vaccines cold and safe.
