MEETING REPORT

The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge is ZOOMING Connecting locally, interstate and internationally. Our focus has been on training and coordinating our members to use the technology and twenty five of our members participated in our second club ZOOM virtual get together yesterday evening. Most of our members have now attended either the first or second meeting. Keeping connected has been high on our priority right from the start of the Corona crisis. We are using emails, phone connections, our Webpage and Facebook, plus including Zoom and this week decided to also meet virtually in a social sense on Fridays at 5pm starting this Friday 14th April in a weekly wine or wind down Zoom get together as well. Supporting Mental Health in our members and community by staying connected is an important issue and strategies to achieve this aim will continue to be explored. Next Tuesday's Zoom meeting will feature Darryl Webb one of our Rotarians with a historical perspective of Anzac Day. Robin reported that over 500 participated in the Virtual Webinar meeting sponsored by Adrian Hoggatt District Governor District 9820 in Victoria featuring The Hon Greg Hunt MP discussing Covid 19. Its also interesting to look at what the Rotary E Clubs have been doing on line for many years now. I recently looked at the Rotary Club of Silicon Valley again particularly in how they invite non members to their meetings and their format. We need to turn this to our advantage in attracting new members, particularly younger ones.
